What are the different types of roofing projects that exist?
I have a roof that I want to get some work done on but I'm confused as to how many types of standard roofing projects exist. My roof doesn't have any structural issues, leaks or problems that I know of at this time. Howver I think it was patched at some point because there are some shingles that are of a different color. I have heard so many different types of roofing work that I am confused? What are the different ways that a roof is worked on and how do different roofing projects differ from each other (longevity, cost, time frame for work)?

Just take some Liquid Latex Additive, mix it with ordinary cement sand mortar and apply it as top surface. This will be the most economical weather proof & frost proof repair. If in USA, Use #3701 Admix & Bonding agent by LATICRETE INTERNATIONAL,INC. tel.1(203)393-0010 Feel free to mail in case you need more details. Tayyab

This is no simple answer. There are literally hundreds of different types of roofing projects. It sounds like this is on your home so we'll start with that. You have also stated that there are shingles. we'll go there first. There is one basic roofing concept that relates directly to what you want and there are two application methods. Well one application and one tear off. Tear off is the key. In most states you can do what is commonly refered to as a roof over. You would not tear the shingles from the roof. You would just lay the new ones on top. The other is where you tear off the old and put on the new. The new can be asphalt shingles, steel ribbed or formed, standing seam copper or rolled roofing. Another type of application that would apply to you is called rolled roofing. Rolled roofing is exactly what it sounds like. You tear off the old roof. I would recommend refelting. Using a special torch you literally roll the rolled material over the roof. Heating causes it to stick to what is underneath. I fear that I have not adequately answered your question, but you didn't really ask the right question. But I could be wrong. Won't be the first or the last time. God Bless
